UK vs. UCONN

I didnt see the game so I have no idea about the refs however,

Just because Uconn is a better team than Kentucky doesnt mean Kentucky didnt deserve to win today. Carolina is better than George Mason, Pitt is better than Bradley but it doesnt mean that either team deserved to win today. The best team doesnt always win, thats very evident of this tournament.

Had uconn and villanova played UK and Arizona on friday instead of sunday both would be sitting at the house. Its all a matter of whose playing well on a given day and what matchups a team can benefit from.

UConn deserved to win more and they're a better team

99% of the time the team who deserves to win, does

yeah thats only logical but the best team doesnt always win, for all we know BC, UCLA or Gonzaga could win the tourney. It doesnt mean they are the best team, it just means they are playing well at the right time.

Then Holy Cross deserves to win every game they play.

Sorry about your luck, but when the refs blow that many blatantly bad calls and UCONN only wins by 4, it tells me that UK would have won if the game was evenly called. Apparently, you were watching a different game, so let me give you a small recap of the referees' ineptness:

1. Bobby Perry drives the lane and puts up a running one hander and gets hacked on the play, UCONN player CLEARLY goaltends the shot, no call.
2. Patrick Sparks and Williams from UCONN near the sideline, fight for the ball, goes out of bounds clearly off Williams, UCONN ball.
3. UCONN player gets ball in the post, Randolph Morris guards. UCONN player pivots all the way around Morris and on the last move, drags pivot foot at least 2 feet, no call.
4. Randolph Morris picks up his first foul with about 15:00 remaining in second half, which is good for him. But he fouls out in a span of the next 11 minutes, while Williams from UCONN picks up his 4th near the 10 minute mark and plays the rest of the game. Hmmmm.
5. Rudy Gay constantly over the back of KY's men in the paint.

Those were the memorable travesties in that game. There were many more that just don't come to mind at the time.

So you might want to watch the game before you make statements to the otherwise.

im not a UConn fan nor am I a UK fan, maybe you need to look at the times some calls went against UConn too...in EVERY game there are gonna be calls that go against each of the teams, it happens every game...what happens is you have fans of a certain school who only (by no fault of their own) see the calls that go against his/her school of choice...it's life, im guilty of it too...but it doesnt mean UK deserved to win that game any more than UConn because of refs...it's not like UK played a spotless game

the thing about the NCAA tournament is that it's not the best team who can win...it's the best team on that given day...and with as deep as this tournament is you see a lot of "upsets"

Dude, you know I've got your back most of the time...but...

That sounded exactly like the typical referee excuse to not call something that's blatently a foul--because the vernacular used for the foul by the person lobbying for it "isn't in the rule book"--not because it's actually not a foul.

I'm not calling you out, I'm just saying that's the first thing that came to mind...I may be disillusioned by most of the reffing around here, but that sounded like the AOA company line answer right there...

I know man, I am just saying. It is the biggest excuse especially with little league coaches and fans. I am trying to break myself from saying it. If a guy does go up for the rebound and forces another person out of their position, it is a foul. But you have people screaming this around here when a kid is taller, or out jumps another player and cleanly retrieves a rebound. There is a difference. I didn't get to see the game, but I was just pointing out that statement. You know me, and how I am about things, and that I don't officiate basketball for the AOA. But, I just wanted to point out something that is not commonly known.
